| Alexander Ivanovich Retuinskih was born on February 28, 1953 in Dzerzhinsk, Russia. He is a Grand Master of USSR on SAMBO and judo, the prizewinner and the champion of all-USSR and All-Russia competitions, the academician of Academy of Combat sports (ASYA) at the Russian State University of Physical Training and Sports, Moscow, the veteran trainer of Russia, the academician of Academy of Combat sports (ASYA) at the Russian State University of Physical Training and Sports, Moscow. Since 1990 he is the author of the project of revival of Russian Fighting Art as a part of fighting national culture of Russian people. In 1993 for work on restoration of complete system of SAMBO he has been selected the chairman of Committee of combat SAMBO of Russia and the chairman of the commission of combat sambo-wrestling at FIAS (the World Federation of Amateur SAMBO). He is the creator of modern, sports-combating, medical condition improving, spiritually-moral system of preparation ROSS (the Russian Domestic System of Self-defense). ROSS is the author's own system which generalizes experience and knowledge, received as a result of long-term practice of SAMBO, wrestling, judo, studying of features of various kinds of self-defenses and hand-to-hand fight. The system is defined as know-how and registered by the state enterprise "Information patent" of Committee of Patent of the Russian Federation on April 4th, 1995. The preparation technique is deduced on a new coil of training and perfection of impellent skill from a position of natural movements of an organism for achievement of high sports-fighting result. The system is developed for people of any age and state of health. Acquisition of impellent skills, ways and abilities is based on studying of Russian national games, dances, kinds of fighting and hand-to-hand fight, and also ability to conduct fight with the least expense of forces, time and energy. ROSS was constructed on effective impellent actions (with biomechanical features of a human in mind) and differs by profitability, universality and applied character. Elements of movements, sequence of exercises by means of genetically programmed mechanic of impellent skills allow relying on the internal congenital reflexes named «the Block of natural reactions of an organism on the given situation». ROSS consists of 8 schools (directions), and their biomechanics are inseparably linked with laws and the nature: 1. Survival school (hand-to-hand fight – Russian style). 2. School of the updated SAMBO and judo – on the basis of Russian hand-to-hand fight. 3. School of improvement of professional skill of security guards and bodyguards. 4. School of bayonet fight and fencing (sports and fighting sections). 5. School of increase of combat training in sports power games (hockey, the American football, Rugby football). 6. "Health" school (improving gymnastics and special acrobatics). 7. School of fighting dances. 8. School of sports hand-to-hand fight. Since 1991 he has coached more than 450 All-Russia, all-USSR and international seminars on training to Russian Fighting Art System ROSS. He has prepared and certified more than 800 instructors-methodologists of a different category working more than in 100 cities of Russia. In February 1992 the Ministry of Justice of Russia registered the Federation of Russian Fighting Art (FRBI), having the all-Russian status. Since 1992 he is the president of the All-Russia Federation of Russian Fighting Art. The federation has the representatives in more than 48 regions of Russia and 20 countries of near and far abroad. The number of people engaged in system ROSS totals more than 100,000. In May, 1994 the Federation was recognized and registered by the Olympic Committee of Russia as sports unique public association in territory and in borders of Russia, having powers developing of this kind of sports at federal level and representing of its interests abroad. Using the technique ROSS, the Federation RBI has become: Champions, prizewinners of the World and Europe on boxing, kickboxing and SAMBO; Champions and prizewinners of Russia on boxing, kickboxing, SAMBO, hand-to-hand fight, and sanda; the champion of Europe on hand-to-hand fight and the champion of Brazil on a jujitsu. In 2000 he was an authorized representative of V.V. Putin’s (the Russian presidential candidate at that time). He is the head of Combat Training Department of the Head Staff of the Cossack Army Union of Russia and abroad. He is the General of the Cossack Army. Based on the ROSS, 12 theses and 1 doctoral were earned. He is the author of the book «Russian style of hand-to-hand fight» (1991) published in Russia and the USA; the methodical book «Biomechanics of movements in hand-to-hand fight –« Russian style » (1999, Yaroslavl); programs of student training on RBI-ROSS Department in the Lesgaft University of Physical Training and Sports ( Saint Petersburg). He is the Chief Editor and the author of popular scientific, sports-methodical magazine Russian Fighting Art ROSS. 23 fiction and documentary films were made (such as «Brothers, let’s remember Rossov’s glory …» and «Lessons of Great Masters»). In 1999 he was elected a member of Consular Council of the World Club of Grand Masters of fighting arts and ranked as the Grand Master on RBI-ROSS in Orlando, the State of Florida, the USA. In 2000 World Consular Council of Grand Masters of Fighting Arts has recognized and certificated system ROSS as a new sports-fighting direction in 21st century and included it in the encyclopedia of Fighting Arts of the World; its author – Retuinskih A.I. – has been recognized as the Person of Year. In 2001, the ROSS instructors were coaching the junior ice-hockey team of Soo Indians, (a semiprofessional ice- hockey team of Northern Michigan). On the conclusion of the general manager-coach and the captain, they had to thank the ROSS system for the newfound team’s endurance, speed, mental stability and mobility. For the whole season there was no serious articulate limb trauma. During that year the command has risen from the eighth place to the first in its subgroup. The American Center of Neurosurgery uses exercises of system ROSS for treatment of patients with infringements of the mental status and brain damage, for restoration of movements of joints and has drawn the positive conclusion. The American Psychiatric Association, while studying the influence of the system ROSS’s exercises on patients with cerebral traumas, paralyses, has come to a conclusion about necessity of introduction of similar practice for rehabilitation of patients through exercises of this system, because it has received very rehabilitation result. Keeping historical and cultural experience of our ancestors and acquiring new knowledge, skills, the youth receives the outlook, which is based on the spiritual beginnings of our Motherland. FRBI – ROSS is a collective member of the All-Russia Federation of SAMBO and the Russian Union of Fighting Arts (RSBI). Studying of Russian Fighting Art as a part of the general culture of the people leads to complete spiritual and physical development of young rising generation. |
